Apple Store Grand Central Gearing Up
Well, I can tell you that the opening of the worlds largest (by square footage) Apple store is getting close to opening.
Shrouded in the typical black construction barriers, workers begin installing ThunderBolt displays on the exterior of the store.
The displays will feature information about the stores actual opening time. Designers, as shown by the picture, are working on the shrouded displays on a flip board style display – fitting of a train station.
That On Demand Movie is $50?!
How much would you pay to what a film that is out in theaters on your home TV instead?
Time Warner thinks $20-$50 should be about right.

It’s Radioactive!
Ideas Live Forever
Life on Earth is a blessed thing. We are given one chance to do something. Anything. We are given such power tools, such as our imagination, hopes, aspirations, dreams and then tasked with doing something with them. We are often given challenges, which are designed to help us fortify our core values. Some people take these gifts for granted and misuse them. Other people seize these opportunities and make the most of the very short time they are given.
Each person is given a chance to make an indelible mark on society. Lets take a moment to not only realize our potential to change the world, but to express our love to our friends and family who we hold so dear to our hearts.
That is todays thought.
Meh
Thats the word of the day.

Do New Phones Matter?
We are so hung up on the latest mobile handsets. Android Phone or iOS device or other? Does the speed really matter? I’m having a hard time telling the difference between models in the Android world. I swear Apple intentionally handicaps their phones in planned obsolescent. Then we have the Windows Mobile 7 phones that all are basically the same.
I’m starting to think that we are entering a world where there are made up boundaries that are designed to bamboozle an end user to do premature upgrades on perfectly good hardware. Starting? Scratch that! I think I may be a few years late to level this accusation. We may be in the cell phone industries prime of created phones with planned obsolescence.
Sure, I sound like an old curmudgeon remembering when I had a phone for years that did one function (and one function well) – MAKE CALLS! (Well that was well before inter carrier text messaging and data so this point may be moot).

The obsession with Palm continues with the expansion of my collection of vintage computing hardware.
The Foleo (or better known at the time of its announcement – the Fooleo) never made it to the market being announced and killed in less then three months in 2007. Running Linux this puppy was a netop computer before the category was ever dreamed up. Featuring a stupidly quick boot and outfitted with WiFi and Bluetooth, this was designed to be a comanion to your smartphone to sahre its internet connection and email client (Sound fimaliar?!)
The device was slated to launch in the U.S. in the third quarter of 2007 for a price expected by Palm to be $499 after an introductory $100 rebate. Palm canceled Foleo development on September 4, 2007, with Palm CEO Ed Colligan announcing that the company would return its focus to its core product of smartphones and handheld computers.
